Pleasure & Pressure Vol.3 – OUT NOW! by Solid Bump Records

22 06 2011

Pleasure & Pressure is Back!
Solid Bump begins 2011 with the third installment of the acclaimed Pleasure & Pressure series. Three years ago the young label debuted it’s first edition of the dirty disco house compilation and it quickly defined the sound of the underground boutique. The then-unknown collective of musical underdogs had a lofty goal of reviving the soul of classic dance music in a time dominated by sterile tech-house and absurd big-room bangers. It seems that the young label had an inside track on the forthcoming shift in taste, as their vision soon foreshadowed a full revival of classic sensibilities in the global underground scenes.
Since that time, Solid Bump’s roster has expanded to include many of the best young producers in the new-era of jacked out house music. Recently the imprint was deemed “the go-to label for bangin’ disco house” by the content editors of Turntable Lab, has received regular features on iTunes, made numerous appearances on Beatport’s “nu-disco” charts, and garnered high level attention in the blog community and traditional music media staples such as XLR8R. Pleasure & Pressure Vol.3 offers a glimpse into the sounds that audiences can expect from the label in 2011 – from warehouse floor stompers to champagne hued rollers.
Below is a link to the latest offering from Solid Bump which showcases a few of the label’s favorite cohorts including Mix Chopin, White Girl Lust, Adulture, and Mykill & Meroz.

Adulture & OCD Automatic – “Paper Cat”

The Paper Cat On The Prowl! Solid Bump Unleashes the Cat!

Short and sweet – this is the release Solid Bump Records has been waiting on. Anyone who knows us has heard about it. The release has already reached #2 on the Turntable Lab singles chart as well having been featured the Beatport “Must Hear Nu-Disco Tracks” of the week. Below is an exclusive free remix from New York’s Free Magic of the infamous Discovery party in NYC. Check out what people are saying below and check out the free remix.

“Solid Bump does it again! Adulture & OCD Automatic’s “Paper Cat” just kills it on that funky disco house tip, with a HUGE sound that’ll tear up the club. Seriously, everything is banging on this track from the filtered loop, the drums, synths, bass and arrangement, perfect stuff to mix in with any house or disco set. The original is already so good, but they decide to throw you some excellent remixes too including a wicked version from Fool’s Gold artist Sammy Bananas who adds some nice sax work(!) and Levan-style synths over the top taking it even higher! Don’t forget to check the chilled out Bit Funk remix and the amped up and beat-repeated Phantom’s Revenge remix as well. Recommended.” - Turntable Lab Editors

Hit us back with feedback! Here is what others have said…
——————————————————————-
“This is nastyyyyyyy… summer vibes gone wild!”Drop The Lime (Trouble & Bass)

“Man that’s great! I played the Sammy Bananas Mix of Paper Cat – nice one!” - Stretch Armstrong (Plant Music)

“Really nice EP, feeling the acid house vibe of the Bananas one the most, will def give that a play!” - Matt Walsh (Clouded Vision)

“Somewhere between Pryda and Bangalter, this release is as timeless, soulful, and as fresh sounding as anything I’ve heard this year.”

- Emynd (Crossfaded Bacon Records)

And although he has yet to directly comment on the tracks, we take this as a ummmm good comment? Hahahaha.

“artwork MAD!” - Diplo (Mad Decent Records)
