PAUL JOHNSON BENEFIT
For those of you who don’t know who Paul Johnson is, he is quite literally a Chicago treasure and an icon for house music. The creator of mega-hits like “Get Get Down”, Paul’s music has shaped the history of the genre not only here in Chicago, but across the world.
Due to a tragic car accident, Paul is in the hospital with a broken hip and spine and is now awaiting surgery to have his right leg amputated. According to those close to him, he will then undergo a few months of rehab and will hopefully return to the music industry.
TONIGHT, Wednesday, December 22nd, Smartbar in Chicago will be hosting a benefit with Farley Jackmaster Funk, Stacy Kidd, Glenn Underground and others. A $5 door donation is requested to help Paul with his mounting medical expenses.
